Intellectual Property Sub-committee

On November 10, 2015, Fulwider Patton LLP partner Vern Schooley met with Representative for the 44th Congressional District, Mimi Walters, member of the Intellectual Property Sub-committee undertaking comprehensive review of intellectual property rights. Vern gave his input on views for protection of intellectual property in the digital age, legislation to reduce the cost of discovery, and discussion on patent reform and recent Supreme Court decisions.

Vern works with our clients in the procurement of intellectual property rights and post-grant proceedings, as well as patent and trademark litigation. Vern has acted as lead counsel in many intellectual property trials, including a number tried in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Ana, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Boston and before the International Trade Commission, as well as appeals before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Vern draws from his long experience in advising on strategy for the protection of intellectual property and litigation strategy on both the plaintiff and defense sides.
