Michel IP Inn of Court to Discuss Stays and Inter Partes Review at Roybal Federal Courthouse

The second meeting of the new 2013-2014 term of the Judge Paul R. Michel Intellectual Property American Inn of Court is scheduled for October 24, 2013, in Room 1268 of the Edward R. Roybal Federal Courthouse at 255 East Temple Street, Los Angeles, California 90012. Registration will open at 11:45 A.M., lunch will be at 12:00 noon, and the program will begin at 12:30 P.M.

The program is entitled "Seeking a Stay of Litigation Pending Inter Partes Review When Dealing With Cost-Sensitive and Skpetical Clients," which will explore seeking a stay in a patent infringement action to pursue Inter Partes Review before the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeals Board. Following the presentation, a panel including the Honorable Suzanne Segal will discuss the various challenges presented, strategies available, and recent decisions concerning stays and the AIA's new IPR procedure.
